My name is Samantha and I paint energy!

I live a life where I choose to embrace all of the beautiful details in life and bring those front and center. In my work, these details transform into worlds created from the beautiful experiences in my life.

I believe we're all seeking a life filled with love where we can thrive and live in an environment that inspires us to bring our own magic into the world.

It is my mission to raise the consciousness of this planet, inspire, and create an environment where you do what you do best.

I believe we're here to grow and expand and remember the core of what life is all about - which is to help and support each other.

Energy is everything. And I hope I can bring the most beautiful energy into your home.

Samantha's mission is to connect people with their true purpose, their true selves, and the power within them so they can start living the lives they always dreamed of, and make the beautiful difference they've always wanted to make in the world.

It is her vision to create a world where we all celebrate who we are, living fulfilling lives that we truly dream of that are true to who we are as people and bring out our gifts and greatest superpowers as we’re changing the world in our own beautiful way, proving that anything is possible.

She sells her work to collectors who want that beautiful reminder of being reconnected to their true essence of who they are and why they’re here on this planet. How it all began:

I grew up in a creative household where we would do arts and crafts all of the time. Maj paj, tye dye, splatter painting, and drawing rainbows were part of my normal day-to-day activities. I was the kid who would always get arts and crafts as birthday gifts. My mom loved to be creative with us as kids so we immersed ourselves in art projects all of the time. During our holidays, we would travel to locations where we could either see or swim with dolphins, or go hiking or camping in national parks. My mom had a love for nature, outdoor activities, and aquatic wildlife so as a kid, I became immersed in her world. Her loves and passions started to become my own.

The Sewing Years

When I was 12 years old, I was presented with the opportunity to learn how to make pajama pants at a local store called Pins and Needles. The idea of learning how to create something from nothing, learning how to create something I could wear everyday seemed so exciting and invigorating to me. I took a class that winter break back in 2005 and I was hooked. I wanted to see what else I was capable of creating.

I spent the following weeks trying to re-create what I learned back at home. Then I explored learning how to create skirts, dresses, rompers, jackets, quilts, tote bags, and so much more. It was how I spent all of my free time during my teen years. During my early years, I was experimenting with taking quilted designs and integreting them into the tote bags that I was making. I would draw sketches of the design on post-it notes, choose the fabrics and bring the designs to life. The idea of being able to take a simple idea, create something out of nothing, and bring it to life was so exciting to me. I loved playing with different fabrics that had different colors and textures and overlapping them, and placing them together to create a design that someone would cherish forever. I was so immersed in this practice and loved every second of it. Back then, this is what I thought I was actually going to do with my life.

Bringing Worlds to Stage

As I was exploring my world of creating clothing and accessories, I was invited to join the costume department at my high school. Theatre has always been a passion of mine so I became part of the process of creating and bringing costumes to life for characters in plays and musicals. I lived in the costume shop on the weekends and loved being part of the community that exists within the Theatre World. When I was fifteen, I was invited to costume design the senior show. And this showed me the power of taking an idea, a concept, experimenting with visuals and bringing them to life on a stage, in a world that we are all creating together. Seeing all of the costumes that I spent weeks creating in my room, on my kitchen table, and in the green room, interacting and brought to life by characters in the play was one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences in that point of my life.

The Beginning of Everything

While I was pursuing all of these creative endeavors, my Mom was urging me to take an art class. When I entered my junior year of high school, at age sixteen, I finally listened. And my life completely changed. Before this, I didn't think I could draw or paint.

A whole new world was introduced to me. I discovered that the experimenting and playing with the color and texture of fabrics that I was doing in creating clothing and tote bags, I could do with drawing and paintings, but the opportunities were infinite.

I discovered how I could take artists work that I admired so much from afar at age 12, and learn how to re-create them. I discovered that I had a skill that I could develop and begin to master, as I began to pour my heart and soul into it. It became my new love, my new obsession. I would work on the assigned projects during every free moment that I had. I spent my time in art stores, figuring out how I could take the experiences that I loved so much as a child and a teenager and bring them to life. I started experimenting with taking what I was creating in my sewing projects and bringing them to life in my paintings.

I spent the following year building my portfolio. I decided that I wanted to pursue painting and costume design and see where it lead me. I decided to attend the State University of New York at New Paltz and pursue a BFA in Drawing and Painting and a BA in Theatre Arts with a focus in Costume Design.

The Painting that Changed Everything

The Release, Oil on Canvas, 52 x 70in

The Release was created as I was recovering from some of the most difficult years of my life. It all started out as an idea when I was camping with my Mom out in the ocean in Montauk, the summer before I was entering my senior year in college. This week was my escape from the chaos of my home, as my parents were going through their divorce, and one of the first moments I had a moment of freedom and clarity in months.

I started creating this painting the following semester when I returned back to school. My dad finally decided to move out, on his own will, and it was the first time I was able to visit my home without experiencing chaos.

This painting became about releasing all of the crazy energy of the past so I could become the person I was always meant to be.

Nature teaches us what is truly important in life, and that is what I always seek to bring forth in my work everyday.

The following year was months of self-discovery. I started to explore what it meant to paint energy and what that looked like - how I could create something so powerful and so meaningful.

Learning About the Universe

I took a class called Exploring the Solar System, which allowed me to make sense of everything that I was creating.

This class gave me a whole new reverence and excitement for life. It made me realize how lucky we are to exist in the first place - how so many miraculous forms of life came to life over billions of years that our universe has led us to where we are today.

Based on scientific evidence, we are the only planet in our solar system that has been able to support the most simple to the most complex forms of life. Our planet Earth has been able to support life as simple as microorganisms and bugs as complex species of plants, trees, animals, and humans. All of this is because we have an atmosphere that consists of an Ozone layer and Greenhouse Gases comprised of Water vapor, Carbon Dioxide, and Methane that maintain the temperature of our planet.

The fact that we are the only planet known that has all these life essentials is itself a miracle. After taking this course, I started creating abstracted ecosystems that celebrated life. I wanted people to take a moment to appreciate what surrounds us; to acknowledge the trees emitting oxygen, allowing us to breathe; to notice how decorative the sky can be, dotted with clouds as if someone took a brush and painted them on, or shimmering in a watercolor sunset.

I want people to appreciate the moisture in the air that forms the morning dew when life is just beginning to wake up.

There is so much beauty surrounding us in the world. You only need to open up your front door to see it, feel it, touch it, and experience it.

I entered my last semester exploring and seeing what I was capable of creating as I was finding my voice and my language in painting. I embraced everything that I learned over the summer and was celebrating this beautiful reverence that I had for life. I was so fascinated by how the forces on our planet worked together for life to exist. I started exploring what that looked like on canvas, as I was creating paintings that were as tall as me.

In my mind, these were worlds that celebrated all the beauty that life had to offer:

- Those beautiful moments as the sun is rising into the sky and life is waking up

- The moments after a rainstorm and all the mist is rising into the air

- The moments before the storm is approaching, when all forms of life are becoming activated

This series was about captivating all those beautiful details in life that we experience when we open our eyes to the beautiful moments of this world.

The Discovery Years

After graduating, I spent the following years discovering who I was. I spent hundreds of hours in my studio, in sketchbooks, as I was discovering my voice in drawing and painting.

I would enter the blank pages in my sketchbook, with no plan at all, and see what would come into form after hours of creating. I spent hours jumping from one drawing to the next as I was forming and developing the visual language that is now present in all of my drawings and paintings today.

These drawings continue to teach me that everything in life is interconnected, that we are all operating from one source, interacting and playing on this beautiful playground we call planet Earth.

I started doing what I do best, and followed my curiousities. In this process, I discovered entrepreneurship and personal development.

I loved the idea of constantly growing and expanding, and proving to yourself what you're capable of creating in this world. I started reading books on these topics, listening to podcasts, and discovering people on social media who were living life so differently from what I was ever exposed to. All of my beliefs of what it takes to be successful were shattered.

I started to discover that just about everything in life is possible, no matter where you come from. I started to discover what was possible for me to create in my own life.

I started to become curious about the meaning of life and the core of what truly matters.

I started to leave my comfort zone and travel across the country on a leap of faith to meet some of the most amazing people from all over the world as I was growing and expanding my mind.

I started to embrace myself for who I was and love myself for everything that I am. I started to live from a place of trust, love, and service - because I truly believe we're all in this together.
