The Story:
The Uproar is a representation of a burst of energy. It tells the story of a powerful wave coming alive, having a mind of its own, in the impending darkness. This painting initially started as a way for me to release the anger and frustration that I was dealing with in my life. We all face experiences in which we feel like we have been mistreated or given the opportunity that we deserved. This experience to me was best expressed through a powerful, electrifying wave. During that time, it made the most sense to express those feelings by placing the brush on my canvas and working with colors that I never bothered to work with before. To experiment with movements and techniques that allowed this wave to come alive.
This painting defines the first time I decided to stop holding back in my art, which ended up being a turning point in the way I paint. Although we sometimes face frustrating experiences where we have no control, it is essential to know how to deal with them in a healthy way, through journaling, painting, meditating, or traveling. There is so much in life we cannot control, but how we react and handle those situations defines our character and how we are going to shape our future. Let's use these experiences as a way to learn and empower ourselves.
